if it is working the sound also disappears if my laptop freezes. try the -nohws option, it is probaly notthe colors that are messed up but the hardware streching of your video card is not good. If you need to occasionaly reinstall your drivers then copy your sound card disk to thic file:C:/windows/TEMP If you need to reinstall or refresh the drivers again use the hardware wizard The Device Manager says my audio is working and I have the volume control available in the task-launch bar.
