In that respect, make sure your Ableton scratch folder (forgotten it's technical name) is large enough to accomodate all the files as wavs, otherwise it'll be churning about again. anyway, be careful with you wav files and itch, especially if you converted them from flac to wav. WASAPI usually has static noises (loud and high-pitched) when there should be a loud noise coming from the speakers. Every other file works perfectly in XBMC or with my external player. Dpc Latency Checker My computer is what you might call very robust in the hardware, video card and RAM department, zero playback issues with even the most intensive files using MPCHC.
Ironically I have not repaired permissions on the volume. I recommend you check your mobo forum and firmware downloads. I have looked for a fix for this problem in FSX for years. Normally that would happen when XBMC was trying to pass audio that your hardware does not support, however since it's fine outside of XBMC it must be a setting issue somewhere This does not fix the problem but at least I have audio again (phew).
