You could install a distribution of Linux on it and see if the card works via that.

New Motherboard No Sound Windows 10
That didn't work, so I checked the BIOS settings to make sure sound was enabled. I have a sony vaio and the sound used to be fine, then all of a sudden there was no sound. As I stated above.
You could install a distribution of Linux on it and see if the card works via that. rubbish.. What I do notice by the way, is that the progress bar doesn't stop when I select the AP for my audio output.

Wat did I do:
- installed Windows 7 on a seperate empty HDD
- removed AP from PC
- cleared cmos
- loaded factory default

Up until now, it's been working fine.
