If they are USB speakers, check your USB drivers while you’re in there. I tried this solution, but I do not have realtek, all it says is that I have a High Definition Audio Device. Each button will speak its position only to the channel corresponding to that speaker. I didn't read through anything here.
And how do I find out what kind of sound card I have? Once again sound worked. In another post elsewhere I found instructions to right click on the Speakers/Headphones icon (right hand side in system tray) and then run "Troubleshoot sound problems". Now those don't work.Here is what I suspect has happened.
