Blows my mind that a shock to an external piece would travel up and fry your sound card. So incase this happeneds to anyone else. The Legend of Zelda:... If it's not under warranty anymore you'll have to weigh the choices. Check This Out

This could just be a jack problem, but this computer is quite old (~4 years) and it isn't in the best condition, either. Damn, beat me to it. Mine was also purchased used, with a front panel drive bay (very useful feature which sadly I don't see on any other cards out there). I dont have cable or any tv type thing so i watch 100% of the things on this computer.
