Knowing that the Sound Blaster SE card is very out dated, I took a guess that maybe it wasn't compatible with Windows 8, so I removed the card. That application failure could in essence be locking the machine up. Maybe possibly google the DLL that the time stamp is referring and see if this is common. i was really thrilled to see new sound card lineup in creative website and purchased sound blaster z. When I got back to the PC screen it had frozen again.

If you are not sure which mobo you have, you can download and run the free Everest programme. My computer freezes all the time, I believe it has something to do with the audio setup but I don't know. I have changed boot settings to only look for a boot record on the C drive but it still won't go on. Do you have a separate card or do you use the on-board sound?
