I just found out that changing modes via Creative Audio Control Center temporarily fixes my problem which tells me there's something wrong with the software. I guess registry could get corrupted a bit when you were deleting stuff by hand and the whole OS has a hiccup now... 1. You may need to restart your system for the changes to take effect. Anyway Enjoy!
I have to say, I'm incredibly disappointed with Creative.
