Clearing it's running, draining my battery and over heating my hardware instead of sleeping. Hopefully not because that would be a nuissance. I'm afraid my CPU is going to burn out. How the machine is not on hibernation now, so what should I do?

But for this test, I would power down when finished for the day and then power up in the morning and keep it up and running all day. The screen will be out and I won't be able to get it to come on without a hard reboot by holding down the power button. The previous poster suggested unplugging all USB devices. I have verified that no usb ports are in use and the same problem appears ocassionaly.
Connected standby differs from normal Sleep states. I even removed the antivirus because I thought that a background program could have been the problem, but it did not work.My model is SVP13215CLB, with latest firmware. At first I thought it was related specifically to closing the lid so I started putting it to sleep using the Windows power button. Your cache administrator is webmaster.

Please make sure to disconnect all third-party external devices including any USB connections to make sure that your computer goes into sleep mode when you close the lid. I have a wireless mouse that I put in the same bag as my laptop. The HD is still running, but there is then no way to get back to the desktop or turn the screen back on (at all) without holding down power key until
